Hair Donation

Yep...that's right. I just donated my hair. They cut the pony tail off at 8 inches but they took another two inches to style. It is a little short for my taste. I couldn't tell you the last time I had hair this short. I am still getting used to it and unless everyone is lying...I think everyone likes it. Let me know what you think.

Update

Well I haven't posted in a very long time. I feel like there is so much to write about but I am lacking the energy. Some updates that I will write more about: training for my triathlon, making a fixed gear bicycle with my friend Suze, getting ready to move out, what's next....you know all the good stuff. For now I will leave you with a short story of a recent bike ride.

On Saturday, I went on the longest bike ride I have ever experienced....37 miles...yep that's right. I actually felt decent when I was done with the ride which was surprising to me...but I guess I have been training well. Anyway at about mile 7 of this ride, I was riding in the bike lane of a 3 lane street. The next thing I know this car comes up right next to me and proceeds to cut in front of me. The car was basically about an inch from my bike frame for the entire length of the car. If I would have turned my wheel at all, I would have gone straight into his car....mind you it would have been his fault but I would have been...well in a pile on the side of the road.

I was riding with my friend Hannah, who was behind me. She saw the whole thing and it was probably just as scary for her as it was for me. She has previously had a car drive into her so she definitely knows how that feels. Needless to say, I made us stop for just a moment so I could regroup. I was pretty amped up at that point and freaked out considering we still had a huge amount of our ride in front of us. We did get back on the road and finish the ride...happily without any concerns.

On a side note, it has been great finding someone to ride with...I probably wouldn't be training near as much if it wasn't for Hannah and her willingness to ride with me and at whatever speed....she tends to be much faster than me.

More stories come soon...and not just about biking...or at least I hope not :)
